List of Godzilla and Related DVDs/Bluray CURRENTLY Available

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaMar-09-2014 9:28 PMI've noticed some people are a bit short on their Godzilla collection. The list includes DVDs and Bluray that are currently IN PRINT as of March 9th, 2014. Out-of-print movies/editions will not be included. Clicking on the red text will send you to the Amazon.com page where you can buy each title.
It's a work in progress so bear with me as I continue to edit this. Feel free to ask questions about each release and discuss them here. Let me know if I missed something in print as well.
Amazon prices tend to yo-yo, so there may be times when it's different on the actual website. I'm not going to be on the ball about this all the time, but it should remain in the ballpark of the prices listed as of March 9th, 2014.
Amazon also includes prices from other sellers that are often cheaper. I didn't include those prices, but you're free to check each link and see if other people are selling the movies for cheaper than I've listed. (Chances have it, they are cheaper.) I've also put notes next to which movies are being released on Bluray soon.
This thread does not include future releases which you can find detailed here: http://www.godzilla-movies.com/community/forums/topic/31981

Thank you very much. I appreciate the time and effort you put into doing this for me and the rest of us who are short on our collections. :)

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-10-2014 4:23 AMAbout the VS SpaceGodzilla one, will the "COMING SOON" be a double pack or will it be released for itself? I really hope for a single case one, because its one of the few last ones i need.
Also, i saw no sign of the original MechaGodzilla movie, and Son Of Godzilla. Is it completely out of DVD/Blu-Ray bounds? I really hope not.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-10-2014 6:07 AMAgree totally with DINOZILLA0439, clearly a fair amount of effort has been put into this list. Great work!
Unfortunately for me I live in the UK, where it only appears possible to obtain Gojira '54, King Kong vs Godzilla & Zilla '98 on english language Region 2 DVD. So unless I buy a region-free DVD/Blu-Ray player I'm pretty screwed :(
So if anyone knows of any far corner of the Internet &/or the U.K where I can find more classic Godzilla films on english language Region 2 DVD then I wouldn't just be thoroughly impressed, I would be very grateful!
Peace out G-Fans!

I've compiled information for all FUTURE bluray/DVD releases in the other thread here:
http://www.godzilla-movies.com/community/forums/topic/31981
In short, Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla will be double featured on a disc with Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II.
Meanwhile, no one knows what's going on with Son of Godzilla or Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla. The Sony versions are out-of-print and extremely expensive if you find them. There's a chance Kraken Releasing is the new distributor for those movies, but until there's an official announcment, both movies are limbo and have no North American distributor.
@GorrillaWhale
I apologize about my limited information regarding Region 2 Godzilla films, especially in the UK. I've tried doing some research, but as far as I can tell the only Godzilla titles available in English Region 2 are as follows:
Godzilla (1954)
King Kong vs. Godzilla
Godzilla: Final Wars
Godzilla 1998
I'll try harder at compiling a better region 2 list once I'm more confident in my research.

AdminGodzillaMar-29-2014 1:47 PMUPDATE/ALERT: If you haven't bought Godzilla vs. Biollante on DVD or Bluray yet, your time is running out. According to a poster at Toho Kingdom the movie will be going out-of-print in the next few months. By year's end it will be harder to find and the price will likely skyrocket into $100+ from certain sellers.
If you want Godzilla vs. Biollante on DVD/Bluray the time to get it is now.

Dinozilla0439
MemberMothra LarvaeMar-29-2014 2:05 PMWOAH. Okay, I suppose that one will have to be at the top of my list besides Gojira.

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaMar-29-2014 2:25 PMYeah, that info leaked a couple of weeks back and I just got to it. I hate that it's happening to Godzilla vs. Biollante because it wasn't on the market all that long and it's easily one of the best North American releases of a Godzilla film: Japanese language, speacial features, trailers...

Dinozilla0439
MemberMothra LarvaeMar-29-2014 2:42 PMWell, that's bad news then. Especially for me since I don't own any of the movies, it'll make it a lot harder to decide which ones to get in what order. But I really want Godzilla Vs. Biollante anyway, since I am pretty fond of Biollante.
Just curious....... would it be too much trouble for you to tell me in what order you think I should get the movies? If you're busy and all then don't worry about it. I usually just respect your opinions on everything since you're very reasonable with that kind of thing.
(And if you do, you don't have to do it on this forum unless you want to).

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaMar-29-2014 3:13 PMWell, with anyone I'd recommend going through any series in order for a cinematic and historical context. But for purely entertainment purposes I don't think it matters too much.
The great thing about the Godzilla series is that they're largely episodic. You can jump back and forth from one movie to another without having to worry about what happened in the film prior. Really it comes down to what YOU want to see the most.

Dinozilla0439
MemberMothra LarvaeMar-29-2014 3:17 PMOkay, well, I think I'll try to watch all of them in order then. There are certain ones I want to see personally, but I think doing it in order would be the best way to go. So besides Godzilla Vs. Biollante, I might try and see if I can get the movies from the first to the last. Unless there are anymore that are going to stop being released on DVD like Godzilla Vs. Biollante.

godzillafan1995
MemberMothra LarvaeMar-29-2014 3:29 PMalthough the heisei series isn't very episodic, especially after GvsMG2 or GvsKG

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaMar-29-2014 3:33 PMWell if there are specific ones you want to see, by all means, go for those first. I think personal enjoyment is very important if you want to go into the other films any passion. But it's your call.
As for DVD/Bluray going out of print... It tends to happen a lot with movies in this genre, but right now I think you're safe. Godzilla vs. Biollante is the only one about to be lost again. If I hear anything else I'll update here.
And as always keep your eye out for the new releases, they'll be least likely to go out-of-print too soon (unless something happens with their distributors...) : Official Godzilla Bluray/DVD Re-release Thread

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaMar-29-2014 3:35 PMEh, the Heisei series tries really hard to stay connected, but in truth the previous films rarely have an enormous impact on the next one. They tend to explain whatever happened previously in the current film so the audience is all caught up.

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaJun-01-2014 11:56 PMSince there have been so many new releases, I've updated this to reflect that. Including the prices. Again, though, prices on Amazon fluctuate so they may change at any point.
I also want to point out that Godzilla vs. Biollante is GOING OUT OF PRINT. It may already have. So if you don't have the film now is the time to foot the bill for it before the price range gets up in the hundreds.

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaJun-16-2014 10:37 PMIt's official. Godzilla vs. Biollante is out-of-print.
The rights from Echobridge reverted back to Mirimax and Echobridge will no longer be supplying replacment discs for anyone with defected copies.
Echo Bridge Ends GODZILLA VS BIOLLANTE Blu-ray Replacement Program
Currently markets that still have it in stock are selling them for $40-$50. The price will gradually rise as time goes on.

MemberMothra LarvaeJun-21-2014 7:07 AMQuestion: Is there a DVD/BluRay of G vs Sea Monster in the international rubbing? The actual US dubbing is so terrible that I prefer the international version like they used on the VHS versions.

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaJun-21-2014 10:12 AMSparkzilla, you actually have it backwards. The international version is the dubbing on the current Bluray/DVD and Sony's prior DVD. The VHS included the US dubbing. It was done by Titra.
In any case there is no DVD/Bluray of the Titra dub. Toho likes distributors to use their international dubs, for whatever reason. I wouldn't hold your breath for that version.

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaJul-11-2014 10:13 AMUpdated the prices since I did it on the other thread. Very small changes.
Godzilla vs. Biollante DVDs and Blurays have staryed under $40 and $50 respectively, but it's anyone's guess how long that will be the case.
New releases have been updated here: http://www.godzilla-movies.com/community/forums/topic/31981
I've also added the Wal-Mart exclusives:
Godzilla Triple Feature: Godzilla and Mothra: The Battle for Earth, Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah and Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack. Sony seems to be trying to sell it as a trilogy.
This is nothing more than the older Sony discs from the 1990s (for the first two titles) and mid-2000s (for GMK).
GMK is presented in widescreen with original Japanese audio w/ subtitles and English audio on a single disc. The other two are on a dual sided DVD presented in fullscreen/pan&scan with English only audio. Avoid at all costs if you already have the first DVD releases or if you have/plan on getting the Bluray releases of these films.
Godzilla Stomp Box: Godzilla vs. Megalon and Destroy All Monsters.
This was officially released July 8th, but has been floating around retail a few weeks prior. It's a 2 DVD set-- both movies are featured on their own discs. They include both English and Japanese audio with English subtitles. No special features.
It looks like it may be discontinued already, but I can't confirm that. The Bluray versions will be out by the end of this month.

The King of the Monsters
MemberMothra LarvaeAug-20-2014 9:47 AMI can't for the life of me find the Media Blasters DVD release of Destroy All Monsters in stores. All I have is the crappy ADV release with the awful English dub track. Well, guess I better check Amazon.

The King of the Monsters
MemberMothra LarvaeAug-20-2014 9:50 AMAnd for whatever reason I'm still seeing the new DVD copy of Godzilla vs. Biollante in stores for like five bucks. I don't know if it's back in print or if stores in my area haven't yet gotten the memo.
"When man falls into conflict with nature, monsters are born." - Professor Hayashida, The Return of Godzilla

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaAug-20-2014 2:55 PMThe King of the Monsters,
Media Blasters has never been one to stock up in mainstream stores. Best scenerio is that you might find Destroy All Monsters in an FYE or maybe Barnes & Nobles. (Big maybe.) Amazon may be your best bet.
Stores that still have Godzilla vs. Biollante in stock probably have copies left over from when Echobridge had it in print. There's no reason for retail to jack up the prices when they'll be getting their money back as long as the copies in stock sell. They won't be able to order new copies from Echobridge. (Of course they will be able to when Lionsgate re-releases it this October.)

The King of the Monsters
MemberMothra LarvaeAug-20-2014 3:37 PMThanks for the info. I normally look for Godzilla movies at FYE and big book stores like Borders and Barnes & Noble, but I've had no luck finding Destroy All Monsters there. I will check Amazon and see if I can find it for a good price.
"When man falls into conflict with nature, monsters are born." - Professor Hayashida, The Return of Godzilla

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaAug-20-2014 3:56 PMThe link for it in the original post says it's in stock, albeit, around a dollar more expensive than I have it listed. The third part sellars seem to be selling new copies for a couple bucks cheaper.

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaOct-09-2014 12:36 PMUPDATE: I've updated the prices for the DVD and Bluray on Amazon.com. Almost all of them has changed.
I've also added the following movies:
BLURAY
- Destroy All Monsters
- Godzilla vs. Megalon
- Godzilla vs. Biollante (re-release)
- Godzilla 2000
- Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack / Godzilla against MechaGodzilla
- Godzilla (2014)
- Godzilla (2014) [3D Edition]
DVD
- Godzilla vs. Biollante (re-release)
I've also labeled Gamera the Brave Bluray out-of-print given Media Blasters history and its insane price.
Godzilla: Final Wars and The Rebirth of Mothra 1 & 2 DVDs have exceptionally high price tags for DVD. I'm not sure if they're out of print or just low on prints.
And for those interested in the Ultra series, the Ultra Q and UltraSeven series seem to be steadily rising in price. So I'd jump on that soon before they become too rare.

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaNov-28-2014 12:46 PMUpdated the prices for Black Friday weekend and included the Gamera: The Showa & Heisei Collection.
A lot of the Sony and Kraken Releasing Bluray that were released in May went down in price. Many DVD have either showed no change or are going up in price-- Specifically some of the Sony and Classic Media discs.
Will update again for Cyber Monday.

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaMay-31-2016 12:32 PMThe Return of Godzilla Blu-ray and DVD links have been added to the list. Prices have been updated.
