MemberMothra LarvaeJan-21-2014 5:12 AMI tried to make a scenario where Godzilla the movie 2014 version has just caught a adult blue whale and is gonna feed on it as it emerges out of the ocean. All done in Photoshop.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-21-2014 8:55 AMAnother good way of portraying the charachter realisticly.
Instead of Feeding on Nuclear energy.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-21-2014 9:00 AMIt looks really great and is well done, but is it just me or are Godzilla and the whale a little bit small?

godzillafan1995
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-21-2014 11:04 AMit looks cool and 'may seem' realistic, but for even a creature that size would result in the extinction of the whale population, and even that wouldn't satisfy him.
nuclear energy is better because it further supports godzilla's anti nuclear message and gives the excuse of him not needing to feed tons like any other chemical powered animal like dinosaurs.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-21-2014 11:17 AMActually, the feeding on nuclear energy is the closest thing to real that we'll get with Godzilla. Anything short of the highest concentrations of nuclear energy and things like rocket fuel would not satisfy his body's needs. The energy expended by him as a creature of such proportions is so immense that no method of feeding other than the previously mentioned two would ever work.
Feeding on whales is about as practical for Godzilla as licking up ant colonies.
It don't work.

MemberTitanosaurusJan-21-2014 11:25 AMIf the idea of Godzilla having his insides basically being a more efficient organic nuclear reactor remains intact, he'd never actually "need" to eat anything, or even breathe for that matter, for he would be extremely self-sufficient, requiring only a quick top-off every few hundred years or so, with oxygen becoming obsolete due to his nuclear organ system providing other supplementary elements for his unique biology. Breathing and eating would be mere leftover instinctual behaviours at most.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-21-2014 12:47 PMthat is good, but do you think godzilla will need tartar sauce with that?

godzillafan1995
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-21-2014 1:56 PMthe fact that godzilla doesn't even need to breath would explain how he can live underwater without gills, unless 2014 does have gills.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-21-2014 4:54 PMMabye that could be Titanosaurus in a future movie in his come back. Cause come on, all Titanosaurus did was fight and then fall from a cliff. Mabye he could come bak and be seen eating a whale.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-21-2014 5:53 PM@Kingzilla, I like it, very cool, very realistic! I hope the movie has interesting little bits like this.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-21-2014 6:30 PMGodzilla 2014 stands upright like... well, Godzilla, not horizontally like a theropod or *shudder* Zilla.
I think it would be cool to see Godzilla eating a whale as a leftover instinctual behavior (as long as they actually point out that he doesn't really need to eat, to avoid causing misconceptions).

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-21-2014 6:34 PMI thought this was a scene of the movie when I saw on FaceBook, but when I came here and read the fourms, I told myself: dang that should be apart of the movie. :( #godzillaswag

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-21-2014 7:54 PMMost reptiles barely eat anything anyway. So if Godzilla DID have to eat, he wouldn't have to eat much and wouldn't have to eat very often to sustain himself.
Nile crocodiles can go a year without eating anything and survive.
Even the whole 'nuclear energy' reactor in his stomach concept sort of works-- if we are talking about Heisei Godzilla; which we are not. We have no idea about 2014's biology.
But then again we are arguing the concept of 'what is realistic' in the realm of Godzilla. Might as well try and scientifically explain how santa can deliver all his presents in one night.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-21-2014 7:57 PMI like the picture. The only thin wrong is the king and the whale are a little too small but then again, it is photoshopped.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-21-2014 8:00 PMThanks for liking it guys:). For the folks worrying about blue whales are not enough to sustain Godzilla, just think of the whale as a snack or something. While it hunts the main course (daikaijus) in the depth of the ocean where no man has discovered yet.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-22-2015 9:23 AMWhy couldn't eating be part of how he sustains his body? Maybe he's more efficient about how his body stores and uses radiation than the MUTO and still needs to eat, just not a fraction as much as would be expected of an animal Half his size. And considering he's supposed to be living down closer to the earths core where Megalodons are now speculated to still be swimming today and what are those eating? So it's a theory that works. And what about other species like Godzilla's that might be down there? Who knows what could be feeding on what! Besides, eating if nothing else might keep his bodily functions running properly and can radiation provide calcium or minerals.
And on that note, what's with all the hate and speculation over what is a beautiful work of art! So many people are too caught up nitpicking the impossible to just sit back and admire this gorgeous creation. The proportions are alright and the whale doesn't have to be an adult.
Oh, someone mentioned him possibly breathing water. He has 4 gills on either side of his neck, like a shark. I looked it up awhile back and now I can't Not see it.

MemberGiganJul-22-2015 12:52 PMIt's nice to see Godzilla feed on something besides radiation.
