ok now here is my idea: Since its based on the story of Ford that millitary dude i think it could be that at the beginning there is some sort of war on a japanese island in the dark night, after defeating a few men Ford realizes that there is something big moving towards him, he cant se what it is because its to dark. After a few seconds we see a humongous foot crashing down just a few meters right behind Ford and you hear godzillas roar. Then a cut to the title sequence.
Just my idea but im sure his movie appearence will be 1000 times better then what i got in mind ^^
@ZILLAHATER How would u know that? Have u seen the movie or what? But btw I love that idea I gotta admit, that would actually be just perfect if they approach godzillas appearance just like that
I think the Mutos will be in the city attacking when you see Godzilla's fins rise a little above the water with the city in the distance. then his fins go under water. Then the humans detect a giant radioactive object heading for the city. Then godzilla rise on shore, roars, and starts attacking.
I agree with DRU it would be a cool opening to like showing a flashback of 1954 Tokyo, and maybe he disappearances for a time and reappearances in this era. (He attacks Japan then maybe makes it to Amercia. To me if would make more of a monster movie if Godzilla would attack different places then just one set area.) I mean cause if you watch the Toho Godzilla they only refurl back to the 1954 one. Like in the 2000 Godzilla movie supposly me hadn't been seen since 1954. The same way with Godzilla 1985.
maybe they show scenes of all the movies from toho so then he comes to be for real, and all the people and even soldiers feel familiar with the monster only till they notice its him, and that the radiation actually mutated a reptile to bring godzilla to life
maybe they would show scenes from other movies then they would say how he was a joke and he just came to life.that would make the ppl and soldiers familiar with him. maybe reference gigan or king ghidorah by saying 'whats next, robot chickens and 3 headed dragons? XD but who knows, maybethis godzilla is the son of the 1954 who knows, so it would know how to destroy with class and style
There will be no old Toho roars or footage in this film. Gareth said he imagined it "as if" someone from Toho saw his version and went back to the studio to make a film on it. Never did he say that anywhere in his film would he actually make that idea a part of his story. In fact, it'd be rather stupid if he did. Having our real modern Godzilla pop culture in a movie that's a reboot to the franchise and starting something brand new would completely defeat the purpose. That, and it would be a partial break of the 4th wall, so to speak.
Anyway, as for his appearance, you must clarify whether you mean our first encounter with him or his first full body reveal. If you mean our first encounter with him, then it will likely be in the first few minutes to introduce audiences to the fact that there is something out there that is going to be a BIG problem. If you are asking about his first full body reveal, it will likely be during the first major battle of the film, slowly teasing him bit by bit until the reveal is presented.
I doubt very much that they will use any of the old Godzilla entrances in this film. Gareth is a creative man, and his special effects team is the top of the line in America. They should be able to come up with something entirely new and amazing for the Big-G's American debut.
