"Damaged Godzilla" Theory

There has been recent discovery of a "damaged" Godzilla from one of the toy preorder pages and I had a thought.
In the trailer there is a clip where a bomb is being lowered down by a group of soldiers, perhaps this is going to be used against Godzilla and sinse he is the tallest Godzilla yet, he should be hard to budge and may even survive the blast, probably leaving a pretty devastating look for Godzilla. So maybe thats why there is a damaged Godzilla. But then again it could just be the rival monsters giving a good beating.
Do you think this could be possible?
TRUE BATMAN, my thoughts exactly. and even with the oxygen destroyer, some versions of godzilla were fine. gmk godzilla regenerated, g vs megaguirus goji was fine, and depending on wether you watch the japanese or american version of g-1985 the oxygen destroyer does nothing altogether(steve martin says they never found a body). godzilla should be something that never really goes away, and he should only get deadlier every time he comes back.
king of the monsters
Gareth Edwards also used the term "the wrath of GOD" when describing what Godzilla represents. That's all i need to here. You pack up your loved ones, leave the area, and simply pray that he passes.
I really wish that more people understood this is a REBOOT, not a continuation of previously established things in the Toho movies. No Regenerator G-1, no oxygen destroyer, and certainly no references to anything that happened in the Toho movies...
I don't think Godzilla will be killed (Edwards did say this is the beginning of a new franchise, and there couldn't be one without the Big G), but it's very possible that he can be hurt...
hi
now godzilla is on torrent you can download it from here

@ zodgilla, while this is a reboot of the franchise. your assumption of there being no oxygen destroyer is proved wrong by the fact that the character, Dr. Serizawa is in the new film. It was him that invented the Oxygen Destroyer. So there is a possibilty that in this film, or any of the ones that will be followed, the Oxygen Destroyer will physically be in the film, or at least hinted at.
@ Colonel Carbine: I'm fairly sure there will be no oxygen destroyer in this film, because audiences in 2014 are much more sohisticated than in the 1950s. Think about it: how would removing oxygen from seawater make anything disintegrate? In fact, removing oxygen from water would just leave you with a crapload of hydrogen gas, which wouldn't harm Godzilla at all. Not to mention you'd be killing all sea life in the area also, by removing oxygen...
I know the character of Serizawa is in this new movie, but it doesn't mean that everything connected to the original will be...
@ZODGILLA I think you severely overestimate modern audiences when you say that they are "more sophisticated than in the 1950s." And even if they were, I doubt most of them would know what would happen if you removed oxygen from seawater, and they'd probably be perfectly willing to suspend their disbelief for that bit of pseudo-science.
i think linkzilla is right. i dont really think they would care all that much about scientific fact. many on the forum would care including myself but the average movie goer wouldnt
@Linkzilla and Dinoboy22: I gotta disagree with you guys on the audience mentality thing. You don't have to be a science fan to know that removing oxygen from water won't destroy anything; that's grade-school science...
Yes, moviegoers ARE alot more knowledgable now than in the 1950s. Take a look at some of the criticisms of modern scifi movies compared to what filmmakers could get past audiences in the 50s...
If there is an oxygen destroyer in this movie, it would asphyxiate Godzilla, as opposed to disintegrating him, which would be alot more plausible...
We now live in a much more tech-savvy society. In a day and age when kids can do computer programming and people walk around with a phone that's actually a mini PC in their pockets, the general public isn't nearly as 'sci-gullible' as in the past. Even the idea that radioactivity can mutate a living organism into something monstrous is laughed at nowadays, whereas in past decades, people bought into it easily...
Just my .02
i think both sides of this argument are making good points and a lot what you are saying is true but neither of you are right. audiences are more sophisticated today than they were in 54, but that doesnt mean its common knowledge to know what would happen if you remove oxygen from water. that being said, i really doubt the oxygen destroyer will be in this film. why cause so much more death to kill off godzilla when you can just keep him alive and hope a sequel in greenlit.
@ZODGILLA I apologize, I thought that by "more sophisticated," you meant more intelligent, not more knowledgeable, which they definitely are. However, I still say that the average moviegoer wouldn't know what would happen if you removed oxygen from water- being mutated by radiation may be out, but I think they'd still be willing to accept that. Speaking of which I wonder if they're going to keep the same origin story for Godzilla?
Also, am I the only one who's noticed the link posted by Sontzu claiming to be Godzilla 2014 on torrent? I'm assuming it's either a virus or a shock site, so why hasn't it been removed by now?
@Linkzilla: Thanks! No apology necessary, you're stating your opinion, as we all are...
I still maintain that people would definitely know that oxygen removed from water =/= disintegration; it's very basic...H2O...remove O....
On the other hand, the basic origin story should remain intact. I mean, why change something that works?
you're right zodgilla it does work but we should never say no to innovation and new ideas. even if its not the original origin story it could still be really cool
