could this be the greatest godzilla movie yet?

Nope. For some, maybe. But i dont think this movie could top some of my favourites. It has a big chance of getting up there, but the best? Nope. At best i would say fourth-third place. But remember guys, im just as excited as you are, i cant wait for this film.

im with you zillahater time is getting closer everyday I just hope that I can rank it as my third-sixth place of Godzilla movies but we will see what it ranks after I watch it about 100 times if it is good which im pretty sure it will be by far zillahater the design alone would send zilla to the depths of space or even to the 9th circle of hell l.o.l

I have never been more hyped for any movie except jurassic park, Prometheus, Godzilla (1998) and Jurassic Park 4, so yeah, if they fail to deliver with this and/or JP4 i will be sad for the next decade or so because these movies mean A LOT to me. It's my childhood that they're 'messing'with. But at least he doesn't look like the Zilla so that's a plus.

It WILL be the greatest Godzilla movie ever made. Call me an untrue Godzilla fan if you want but if Gareth manages to succeed in everything he promises this movie will make the other Godzilla films look like $2 funded documentaries. Maybe it's my weakness for something with a lot of love and effort put into it combined with a dark and grittier story, but I'm ready for this type of Godzilla film. Godzilla deserves this movie. The TOHO movies were awesome to me as a child but they are kinda silly now. I'm older and ready for a serious take on the big guy.

We know almost nothing about this move so I wouldn't count it as even a competitor for the best till I learn a little more about it. Even knowing more of the story can't really promise that it will be good. Personally when i heard the story behind Final Wars i was convinced it would be be the best godzilla movie ever but after seeing it a few times I can say it's not even in my top 5, so until i see it I'm not going to put insanely high expectations on it

This movie is going to be my most favourite godzilla film regardless of how much it fails, which I dont believe it will, all those old godzilla movies were just child play, now its time for the king to get serious. And come on guys this is modern day and its time to let go of messy weird suits and get into CGI.

Sorry, but this film wiill be the best Godzilla film since 1954. That's right, I said it. Why? Because just about every other G flick after the first one has been a shameless commercialization of the beast. At leas this film bothers to make a compelling human drama rather then making the story secondary to big G himself. I mean for the first time in a Godzilla flick we actually get talented Hollywood actors, not like those foreign exchange idiots whom we see through much of the Heisei era who couldn't even get their own accents right. So as I stand, this new Godzilla film will easily be the best one since 1954.

I have to agree with the 2 people above me. This will be one of the best Godzilla movies. Gojira is leauges better than it's sucsessors and this film is shaping up to be the best one yet.

Saying this will be my favorite movie even if it sucks is like saying every other movie is trash if regardless of how bad it is it will be your favorite. Are you old enough to remember when the 1998 godzilla was coming out? Trust me most of us thought it would be amazing too but it wasnt. Theres no reason to think this movie will be amazing as the only info we have is that said by the cast and director who of course will say its amazing.

It's title was godzilla, and at the time we were under the impression it would be a great movie. Did it end up being the best godzilla movie ever? god no but i guarantee there were people like you thinking it would be. Hell, even I had high expectations. It can be different from the 98 movie and still not be the best. There's a lot of ground between the original and the 98 version that it could fall between. How is it threatening the movie to say we know nothing about it and to say it will be the greatest godzilla movie ever without any knowledge of it is stupid. You think other people don't love godzilla? I grew up on it too. I watched all the hype for the 98 versions before it came out as a 6 year old and it blew my mind how good that movie was going to be. Was it good? No. Did i get my expectations up knowing nothing about it? Yes. That's what I'm saying. Not saying I don't love godzilla, I've seen every movie; I've watched them from the perspective on a 4 year old all the way to a 20 year old. I special ordered the godzilla heisei series for an outrageous price since at the time it was impossible to get those movies in the US before DVD releases. I guarantee i love godzilla just as much, if not more than you and i would love nothing more than for this movie to be the greatest movie ever, just saying don't be an idiot and make proclamations that this WILL be the greatest godzilla movie when godzilla's look isn't even confirmed, you've seen no real trailers, you know almost nothing about it, and the only thing you have to go on is what the actors and director says. Do you really think they would say it was shit? no they'll say it's the greatest thing ever and hype it up as much as possible to get people to go to it.

And the first thing I saw when I was born was my dad holding the godzilla 1954 DVD in his hands. I love godzilla enough as if he were my brother or son. Love how you talk about your freedom to love it when you yelled at some1 for saying they didn't expect much out of it. I'm not going to go into you seeing godzilla when you were first born as it's literally impossible you'd remember it that clearly, and very unlikely that your dad brought a godzilla dvd into the delivery room. As for me being an ass hole about his look once again not sure what you're talking about as I've never said anything bad about it, never addressed it at all actually until that sentence, and i wasn't saying anything bad about it just saying you don't know what it is. Could it be the best godzilla movie ever? sure, but could it also be another huge disappointment that makes us regret staying up till midnight and waiting in line to get tickets for? Yep

If u only like 1 out of 28 GODZILLA movies u cant call your self a GODZILLA fan and in february when we finally get a trailer we can determin then wether or not its gonna be anygood.

i love all G-flicks yes even GODZILLAs revenge :D and i even own zilla98 i keep it with my regular movies because yes he's not GODZILLA but it was a decent dai- kaiju movie.

You have far less grounds to stake your claims then any of us do, so if anyone is being an idiot here it is you. And how many times are you going to repeat yourself? As I said earlier, we know enough about the film to deduce whether it will be something promising or not. In fact, I think I smell another troll who just want's to cast doubt on the otherwise positive hype on this website just because you don't like being wrong.
