We can always hope that the director wants to be more original, but originality causes too much backlash. Common is safe. And I guess I would be cool with an "either side could have won in different circumstances" ending. There is a definitive winner in the fans minds. Because they can always speculate and theorize and research and "bla bla bla my guy could have won if..." Which I guess is fine.

Just kidding man, take as long as you need for it. And thanks for deciding to send updates! Plenty of developers don't bother with the latter, and sometimes that results in... Fallout Trees. Also, don't forget, no one is forcing you to make the game, so if you need to take a break from it at any time, do so.

@Ultra BIF Thanks a bunch for the suggestions! I'm going to college to get a general understanding of game design and animation. I'm an avid fan of movies and games so I want to apply the cinematic imagination I have into a game that pairs well with my love for Kaiju.

Open world is the best way to go, I think that the epicness of obliterating buildings with super moves is probably going to counteract any negative effects of going open world. But you could also add in a more claustrophobic map to force the players to have an intense battle. I love the idea of an original kaiju game with orchestral music and original lore. I can already see myself always choosing some particular character because his story, look, and moveset are all cool. And also, that monster you've already gotten the top of is great. Is the bottom done yet, and if not I think it would be really cool if it was like a hedgehog shark (just a thought). Another thing that would be cool is one character who is a mech rather than an animal-type (but with an ai not a pilot). I just think adding one (so the character stays unique) mech would be cool. Anyways that's what I thought off the top of my head. Random question, is this what you went to college for, to make an epic video game?

I, personally, would love to help Fly create better banners.
I have a feeling that whoever wins will win only because of some random interference that allows both sides to be satisfied but unsatisfied at the same time. Like if humans gave Kong cardiac arrest before he ends Godzilla so Godzilla gets back up and obliterates Kong. That was mostly a joke but you get what I'm saying, every monsterverse movie so far has had some game changing interference.

@TheLazyFish The whole game will be original. The only thing I’ll use Godzilla for is testing game mechanics. You wont see him in any demos or the final product. As for music, I would definitely love to give each monster their own theme/battle music.

Holy crap! This sounds awesome! Do be careful of copyright, though. Especially when making an entire game without the permission.
As for the music, maybe sometimes you hear one of the themes of the creature you're fighting? Like having the original Godzilla theme if you're fighting the Hesei or Showa Godzillas. Orchestral is definitely the way to go, and throw in some choir in there too! I think a good example would be the theme from Requiem for a dream, but that might be just be me.
Godzilla will win, but there will be a definitive winner because Adam Wingard said so.
@GojiFanPat i’m actually going to use a Godzilla model during prototyping to get a sense of what I want to happen. Plus it’ll be temporary until I get the models done.
