Awesome fan made Godzilla artwork for Godzilla 2 in 2018 (featuring King Ghidorah)

I'm 90% sure that that's almost directly based off of Smaug.

^Correct. Legendary i believe said that they would make King Ghidorah more Smaug looking for their next film if i'm not mistaken.

Really?! Huh, I personally love this picture then. They could show a little more spikes and teeth, but still... AWESOME!

Smaug would be the best to draw insparation from for King Ghidorah.  Especailly if your going for a more modern look.  Gareth should always remeber to also look back at earlier designs to truly make a fearsome monster.  King Ghidorah '91, Grand King Ghodorah, and King Ghidorah 2001 along with some Smaug thrown in would look terrorfying.

Personally I don't wan't Legendary to make KG Smaug like and I  want them to make KG's head look like 91 KG with 2001 KG spike in it and maybe with theropodish leg.

That is absolutely georgous.  I love the look of Ghidorah here... very much in keeping with the "Legendary Series" aesthetic that the first film established.  It fits very nicely with the new Godzilla.  If he looked like that in the new film, I'd be cool with it! :)

Actually, the whole Smaug thing was based off the witness records of the people who saw the Godzilla footage at ComicCon. :)

No prob! I wouln't be surprised if Ghidorah resembled Smaug though. Smaug has such an incredible design!

BIGBADBEN - That is a fantastic image! I greatly enjoy the detail! Personally, I would like Legendary's Ghidorah to have a more monstrous, ancient, and perhaps even decrepit appearance - bespeaking incredible age and an eerie, almost nightmarish history! Perhaps something like the dragon from the Dragonslayer film!
