I know he gained this form through his fight with Destroyah, but can anyone be kind enough to explain how he tranforms himself, and what it basically is. I ask this because I've seen pictures of it and it looks incredibly badass, so I was thinking how awesome it would be if the new godzilla was also capable of doing the same thing, if it is what I think it is.

no.

As nostalgiac as the Heisei series was, I want the new Godzilla to steer as far away from the goofy stories as possible.

@Godzillasaurus Rex-I'm not asking your for opinion bro. I stated very clearly that I want to know what the transformation is, and how he did it. Why do you think I put it on the Classic Forum?

I don't remember the exact specifics, but I know that Godzilla was living on an island that blew up from a volanco and it caused him to absorb TOO MUCH nuclear power. That's what put him in the burning godzilla mode I believe.

He doesn't transform into his Burning form. He was mutated into it by accident. He appears in that form at the beginning of the film and his condition worsens throughout.

A radioactive fissure erupts on Bass Island, where he and Little Godzilla were staying, and it overloaded his heart which is equal to a nuclear reactor. It caused nuclear fission in Godzilla's body that would force him to explode and take the planet with him.

Later in the movie G-Force gets the fission under control, but the heat within Godzilla's heart continued to rise. So instead of an explosion, if his heart [reactor] melts, so does he. His meltdown was initially supposed to destroy the world as well, but G-Force found away to freeze him while he melted in order to minimize the damage. Only Tokyo is left feeling the effects of his death.

Burning Godzilla may be the most powerful form of Godzilla (arguably), but it comes at a cost. It's very far from intentional and ultimately cataclysmic.

Ugh, my bad there. Sorry 'bout that.

But yeah, he was mutated into Burning Godzilla because he basically got an overdose of radiation.
